i'm not going to risk losing time or money. if there's a wave of panic then i want to be riding the crest of it
something that would clean up the roads and bring fuel prices down is getting a lot of the heavy vehicles off of them. we'd have a canal and rail system for freight if we looked after the damn thing.

That would be amazing

Because we are paying nearly £1 a LITER and the government are raping about 70% profit on each liter of petrol sold. Therefore people are deciding to strike to get the government to realise and drop the fuel prices.Chupacabra wrote:can someone give some background info on this please?
i read an article about it but not sure i totally understood whats going on. so the british government is talking about limiting fuel purchases/times etc. so people are rushing to get as much fuel as possible?
who is "protesting"?
mate. try 93% tax, i think it may be more. protesters are going to block the refinary's (sp) for three days starting wednesday. this has caused people to fly into a blind panic and fill up, therefore pumping the country dry - which is not needed, you have people who usually tinkle about to and from the shops, who fill up once a week, now topping up to the top because they are stupid.
one of my mates hardly uses his motor, he had 3/4 of a tank which usually lasts about a week and a half, the fucking mong then blitzed down to the garage and filled up. gets my back right up. fucking idiots

i think the problem is worse in the states but theres not too much being done here (average income in UK is twice as much as the US and gas prices are double there. everything in the US is spread out much more so it creates a bigger problem. plus the alternatives to car travel are more abundant there).
anyway, thats good you guys are doing something about it. instead of the government raking it in, the oil companies here in the U.S. are rolling in profits.
