new games that are fun to play at a LAN

Does anyone has a suggestion for a newish pc game that is a blast to play on a LAN? I mostly play Quake, UT2k3/4, Battlefield, Warcraft and Flatout. Preferably a game you can hop into without having to sort much things out.

yeh... all the newer games seem to be mediocre copies of older games.

why would anyone need a deathmatch shooter other than the quake series?

same goes for RTS... starcraft and warcraft are simply the best choices.

C&C Zero hour is great for a game lasting 30 mins or so. If you have more than 2 players in for it it's much better.

We got the multiplayer mod for GTA vice city working and had a blast.

yeh... i was about to play some 1on1 with my brother when we realized that there is no MP in the trial

it seems to be nice though: the trading posts give you something to fight for.
