Yup, reselling old hardware isn't very profitable. Because it's old and because it's used.

no shit. this isn't my first time dumping off old hardware...i remember selling a computer that cost 1500 in 1987 for $20 at a garage sale.

I gave away a machine that cost me $3000 in 1992.

I stripped down and tossed another one that cost the same in 1995.

well over $10,000 in computers over the years, and in the end, most of them are given away or tossed out..heh...

Yup. I gave a friend of mine two computers worth of spare parts for her birthday.

I wish I lived in the US so I wouldn't have to pay US$300 shipping on piece-of-shit computers which are still so much better than my current computer *grumble*

[size=75][i]I once had a glass of milk.

It curdled, and then I couldn't drink it. So I mixed it with some water, and it was alright again.

I am now sick.

Maybe a pretty good base start up for a internet browsing PC but you're better off helping a relative: let them pay what it will cost to finish into a full computer.

btw checked ebay for the heck of it and its flooded with overpriced ancient crap

Yeah, I agree. I've given up building PC's for everyone but myself.

Too much hassle.

I stopped talking to relatives that looked gift horses in the mouth.

Whats the conversion rate tho.. was thinking about that today, if a UK fellow wanted it, it would actually still be quite a bit cheaper.. :paranoid:

That drives me insane. Luckily I just gave away all my spare shit (including monitors, keyboards, and mice) so I don't have the ability to setup a tech bench anymore.
