I was wrong, by the way

Post by Nightshade »

When I said that I doubted if any other countries would offer aid to the US after the hurricane. I was stunned to hear on the news last night that a SHITLOAD of countries are offering aid. Kuwait, Qatar, and the UAE are donating $100 million each, and Kuwait is also donating $400 million worth of oil. Senegal, Djibouti, Canada, tons of countries are offering cash. Fuck, even BOSNIA is donating $6,400.

From one American citizen to the world, thank you all. I'm glad to admit that I was wrong.

We knew your government wouldn't help so we figured we better. You're welcome. And hey everyone has to be wrong sometime. We're only human. ;)

Did you hear that Cuba was going to send 1100 feild trained doctors, 60% of them skilled in the treatment of infectious diseases and the U.S. turned them down. These doctors would have came equipt with everything they needed, down to shelter and food. But because of the embargo, Bush turned them away.

Not good.... :icon27:

I don't think it was just because of the embargo. FEMA was turning help away without any prejudice whatsoever.

I still don't understand it.
