I've actually been looking for this for a while, just to see exactly HOW bad it could be, especially after having read that Gamespot article about Daikatana's development.
Hell, I picked up Trespasser for the same reasons, and that's actually kind of enjoyable once you get past the graphics.
If nothing else, it deserves it's place in the hall of fame for it's use of a real time physics engine years before such a thing became de rigeur.

I remember when I was working on the ship, we stopped in russia around 1998 or 1999 and I bought daikatana on CD. I couldn't get it to run properly. It was a black market rip. But thinking about it now, the game wasn't released till 2000, so this might just have been the demo which was released in march 1999. Or else the full game leak at the time.
its not OMG LOL WORST GAME EVAR !!11one. it was just released wayy too late, and all the hype they created around a 'not al lthat' game didnt help eitherMat Linnett wrote:I've actually been looking for this for a while, just to see exactly HOW bad it could be, especially after having read that Gamespot article about Daikatana's development.

I bought it when it came out and played it most of the way through. Its not too bad if you get the patch (if you dont, your 'sidekick' charachters will annoy the shit out of you). Not a bad game, but not great either.
The multiplayer was actually pretty fun, except for that they only had 7 or 8 servers at any given time.
