Yes you can... Might want to check this site out too http://www.zedge.no lots of good info and free stuff for cells. The messageboard is a wealth of info too.

I dont really get it though. What do you mean by 'making' them. Like with a composer make your very own mp3 ringtones and set them on your mobile? Or do you just mean downloading any mp3, transfer it to your phone with a cable or bluetooth and use that as a tone?

No he probably means converting an mp3 into a playable phone tune that you can download directly on the phone. Using the site zedge.no you don't need any cables or crap to upload it though so it's kinda useful that way.

well if it plays mp3's i thought it would be just a matter of cutting the file for the part you want and sending it over to the phone

exaclty. the phone is not an mp3 player, but apparently the HiFi tones or whatever t-mobile calls them are just mp3 clips.

I convert MP3 ringtones myself and transfer them to my phone for free, but I won't tell you how because you're a fucking idiot. Die.

You might try saving the files as 8 kpbs PCM (one way to do this is with sound recorder). That's what my old Siemens used.
