Doom 64 didn't have polys. Just higher res sprites.

Well doom 64 looks ace, and this thing looks good too, the guns remind me of d64.

...Those are the doom 64 guns. He's shown what the weapons did look like and underneath he has the models of what he's made them look like. He hasn't done them all yet.

No, how about fuck nintendo for their lack of a good volume of quality games made by 3rd party company's.

I know it's not the same for handhelds because it's not as big a market (I'm assuming) as consoles so they may very well have better quality games for the DS as opposed to their gamecube but compared to nintendo's golden years it's gone down the crapper compared to then. It's like the console never evolved properly with the growing market.

I agree Ninty dont have as strong an impact over in the UK any more, but saying they cant produce good games is like saying carmack can do an engine not made for firspt person games. I.E. Its possible, but dont count on it.

It's not like I'm talking out my ass here I OWN a gamecube among other consoles. Guess which console get's the most playtime? That should tell you something.

The fact is the gamecube has very few good games compared to other systems. Even their few good games I like I don't play on their console since I can play it on Xbox most times and it looks better except for the very few good gamecube exclusives. Like Metroid Prime, and that's the only one that really pops in my head at the moment. So that's pretty sad.

I want to stress though that I do think Nintendo probably has an edge on the hand held market but with their general marketing strategy completely sucking balls on the gamecube front and new handhelds like the psp being released I think nintendo is gonna go the way of the cube on all fronts if they keep it up.

Tell me which "yet another plain racing or hack & slash" games are good on the PS2? Saying that there aren't enough quality games on the GameCube is utter bullshit. There's LOADS of fantastic games for the Cube. I'd even say that when it comes to exclusive games, the Gamecube is well ahead of the competition.

As for the DS, it's currently doing very good, especially in Japan.
1.3 million DS units have been sold in Europe
3 million DS units have been sold in Japan.
Over 6.5 million DS units have been sold world wide.
3 million DS units will have been sold in Europe by the end of the year
Over 57,000 DS units haven been sold in Japan this week while "only" 20,000 PSP's were sold.
In total, nearly twice as many DS units as PSP units were sold in Japan.

Those are money making figures. Nintendo will stick around for quite some time. In fact, they made more money out of the GameCube than Microsoft made out of the XBox. The XBox was actually one of the most costly undertakings for Microsoft ever. In that sense, the XBox was nothing more than making a name for themselves.

Nintendo will remain as a behemoth in the gaming industry. The Gameboy Advance is still the best sold console / handheld ever (GBA sales alone are nearly bigger than PS2 + XBox + GameCube sales combined) The DS is doing very good and it hasn't even been xmas yet. The GameCube is expected to get a huge sales boost from a release like the new Zelda game. Another thing that should help is that a GameCube + Mario Kart bundle costs about as much as a single night out.
