IT'S NOT A WASTE OF MONIES.
I'm not saying it's a waste. I'm saying that you're not saving any money from doing it. As such, it's a pointless excercise.

All you lot are doing here is displaying an almost Kracus level of closed-mindedness in failing to grasp simple logic when it conflicts with your common people little rituals.

If you have £30 in pennies at the end of 3 months, it's not money saved. It's money you had all along.
In that acase you never actually save anything?
If you put £30 aside every time u get paid, its saving
as its money you had before?

Save, i class that as to amount, to gather, wether it be money,
magazines, shell fish or toe nail clippings!!!

those 2 pennies which you cant do anything with anyways can add up nicely though, without adding extra weight and chingeling to yer pants :)

exactly
Nothing bigger than a 20p goes into my change pots

Memphis: Point taken! Granted i do see your point but im not
talking about huge amounts of change. Im talking 1p and 2p
coins here...Now to get anything worth while you do have to
carry a silly amount of change around with you. If im buying a
cup of tea in work, i usually give them 37p in change, not slap
over a £10 note. If im out on the piss i usually always pay for
drink with change at the beggining of the night, but by the
end i pay by notes as i cant really see and dont really listen.

Its quite simply 3 or 4 pence at the end of every day that
gets chucked in a pot coz its worthless to have in your pocket!

So you have 20p at the end of each day that you put in a pot
After 2 days that's your cup of tea paid for.
The 3p change after 2 days will give you 9p.
Having that 9p on you saves you the bother of breaking into a note or pound coin the next time you grab a bar of chocolate that's 29p.

You're telling me that you find it unbearable to walk around with 29p in your pocket.
So much so you put it in a jar, only to have to eventually count up that 9p in pennies, 9 times over, then cart it all the way to the post office or Asda to have it changed into the same amount of money, only in different coins and spend it anyway.

It's an excercise in pointlessness. Rather akin to me trying to explain it. I'm starting to feel like i'm writing a secondary school text book on basic logic.

Im not even gonna bother

On the topic of change...

Just what in the fuck is the point of something being 9.99? Why not just say £10 and make it quicker and easier...?

because it looks cheaper. 999 looks impulsively better cause "its not a thousand".

it's also a better deal when you buy 10 of the same product :o which is another way of fooling you

Meph is right. You are all essentially paying a rounded up dollar amount for whatever you buy. Then you get a nice refund when you count all that change you've accumulated.

Think if we are both buying something for 1.37 and I use 1.40 and you just pay with 2 dollars, even tho you have change in your pocket. You now have 63 cents change on top of your other change, which makes up for that extra dollar you gave the clerk.

My dollar stays in my wallet, and will be used later. Your dollar goes into a savings of sorts.

Meph is right.

In almost 20 mins since that post. Yet you still managed to spam 2 more posts.
In all probablity, it's more likely that you couldn't respond, rather than didn't.

And what the fucking hell's bells going to play rugby has to do with the size of Zorro's belt buckle I just do not know
Simply ment that i didnt have time really

Like DC said, it all adds up. You keep those 5ps to put towards your sandwich and it's no different from chucking it in a pot and digging it out 3 weeks later.
The only real difference is you're giving yourself the accutely boring task of counting up a mountain of shrapnel at the end of the month/week/year/whatever.
neg, go to asdas and you throw it in there big money counting machine where it sorts out all your shit then gives you a receipt to go to the checkout where you get your money back

and, yea, it is saving me money because my change pot wouldve been all the money i lost in town pissed up, given to a tramp, left with the till lady or just thrown about

cant STAND having loose change in pockets

we got one of those penny machines in asda :icon14:, they're ace, and some of it goes to charity :)
