Doctors of Q3W: vertebrae Q.

Post by netrex »

The oldest daughter of my moms fiancé has been in a car crash, and she has two broken or damaged vertebraes in some way. One of them is the fifth from below I think, but she still has feeling in her legs, but they need to operate on her.

I don't have any more spesific information, but what I'm wondering about is if this is a risky operation or not. Is there a big chance that she can loose all feeling from below that point or?

I'm just wondering, cause I'm really anxious about it. She's about the most active and kind person I know and she hates staying inside sitting on her ass, so it would be so sad if she got stuck to a wheelchair :tear:

I'm in a city quite far away, so I have no way of getting to her or her doctor, so I can't. I asked those in the family that had been talking to the doctor, but for some reason they hadn't asked about this. And thanks, crossing fingers.

She probably won't be paralyzed, but there's a chance she'll eventually get aids.
