Sound DOES work in D3 demos : howto

All it takes is to switch to windowed mode, then back to fullscreen while playing it

If it's slow, timescale 1.8 should do it.

Demos have sound by default now. :/ It's one of the things they fixed in 1.3.

Doom 3 demos

Its actually better to record your demo then record the game again in fraps or something and release that...
