How so?

There's a lot of irrational fear, but the disease itself?

Laboratory-grown meat could also be healthier, proponents say.

irrational fear? more like prudence when you consider how lazy your typical American redneck cattle farmer can be ;)
No, still irrational fear.

Can't wait. It'll hopefully keep the veggies and PETA happy and we'll be able to make a big dent in world hunger.

Hmm, well, i must say i'd feel slightly uncomfortable eating meat that was never an animal. It just seems a bit unnatural, like sodomy. Yet it piques the curiosity, you know, like sodomy...

Whats the difference? Lab meat is probably better for you.

If you ask me, they probably wouldn't solve world hunger. Not because they wouldn't be able to, but if you fed all the starving people around the world, you would then have millions of people who were once starving, now healthy, making babies. Overpopulation. Just like, if they released the Vaccine for Aids, less people would use condoms and more babies would pop up all over the world. Then again, maybe mother nature would find another way to kill us off.

I suppose i could expand on that sodomy metaphore a bit more if you like:
See, pussy is probably better for you too, because there's usually no shit in it. But a variety in diet increases the appetite, and probably boosts the immune system so to speak and i'm sure it does wonders for your sense of adventure... err...hold on, i think i lost my point a bit here.

No matter, here's what it boils down to: i would eat the meat. Perhaps slightly reluctantly at first, but i'd eat it if i was hungry and there wasn't any normal meat around.

ok, but all fear will subside once your brain is spongiform.
There can be plenty of irrational fear for very legitimate diseases, even BSE.
