Help me build my new pc.

Post by reefsurfer »

If ya want?
It's gonna be 100% for gaming ( u already knew that though.. :paranoid: ) so i only want the most neccesary things.
Just to clarify, its only the Tower/Box and not a monito, mouse, keyboard etc i need... only the PC.

Could each and one of ya post what you think i should by.. your list, sorta speak.
There is one catch though... i dont wanna spend more than:
1,300 US dollars
1,075 Euro
740 pounds

And it has to be better than what i have now which is:
AMD 2600+ barton (1.9GHz)
Nvidia geforec 6800LE 128mb pipemod
Twinmos ddr-sdram pc3200 (200mhz) 1024
Motherboard MS-6777 Nforce2
350 watt powersupply
cd-rw
dvd rom
80G hd

thx in advance fellas. :)

IMO, go with a Pentium D, my friend got one and you can play while you're encoding a video or something without a significant drop in framerate (I tested that 292fps in q3 (1280x1024) and 267fps while ripping a DVD).

check out http://www.gottadeal.com for rebate coupons and whatnot. You can get a BFG GeForce 7800 GT OC with a coupon from there through Dell for 331 USD.

To build an entire new pc at that cost, that's better than the one you have, isn't very reasonable.

But for a fraction of that cost, you could probably make some changes to yours and make it a much much better machine. That's what I would do if I had the cash to spend.

You should get a PCI-E ATI x800, great cards. Not sure how it compares to that GF though.

Why so anxious to upgrade now?

We're on the threshold of next-gen console releases, after which PC-component-manifacturers will drop their prices to stay on top of things.

Just wait it out for a couple of months and you'll get the same shit for far less.

I bought my last computer from datorbutiken.com

http://www.datorbutiken.com/se/

Keep all of your drives and your case.

Get a new 939 PCIE Motherboard by Asus or Abit
New CPU, 4000+ or better
At least 2 gigs of RAM, the best your budget will allow.
PCIE 6800 GT 256MB or better
Quality PSU, at least 450 watt.

Save up and buy the other parts later.

I'm not sure anyone does. But what's important, is that you can. :icon25:

ya dude, just sweat off with what you have for a bit longer. 1.3K can get you something nice but not worth the difference between what you have now.
