Oh boy I bet that octopus' bigger brother could whip that great white shark but good.

And I'm not even mentioning what their uncle the Giant Squid could do to him. Hell...he'd bang all their heads together while comfortably eating a cheese sandwich and gobbing on extra mayo with every bite. A big fat squid with back hair. Mean motherfucker I tell you.

And most sharks do need to keep moving in order to stay alive, but there are a few exceptions. The nurse shark (as an example) is actually a member of the ray family, and it spends a lot of time lying still under ledges. But most sharks can't breathe without water passing through their gills, which means they have to stay moving.
And here I thought I was talking out of my ass. :icon26:

Cool.

I wanna see those insanly large octos that take the biggest whales etc.. Not those commonly thought of as giant, but most likely the biggest and most dangerous predators on the planet. They have some kind large bone hooks at the end of their arms that they use to hold on to the whales or big sharks and whatever else is big enough for their attention. And they're bigger than the blue whale even. Show me those images!

If i had no moral scruples, and it was possible to do so, I would love to arrange the following situation.

Take a large and powerful shark and starve it to the point where it is extremely hungry, but has not lost any significant amount of strength.

Do the same to a huge and powerful tiger.

Now for the arena:

A seven metre by seven metre glass cube, in which there is an amount of water. The water is deep enough that the shark can survive and swim reasonably, and shallow enough that the tiger can move without too much hassle.

Videotape the thing from as many angles as possible, with theatre quality lighting.

btw if you haven't read "Life of Pi", do so at some point in your life :)

Hmm, perhaps further research is needed to find out whether the tiger's fighting ablities will be in any way altered by the salt water - and if the octopus can survive in sweet water if this is the case.

On all other fronts, class idea. I look forward to seeing it on pay per view.

if it's deep enough for the shark to swim it's too deep for a tiger to freely move as on land..kind of a hard fight to set up.
think about it

All the shark has to do is rip out it's tongue.

Is it common for tigers to have their tongue out while fighting or hunting? I don't see how a shark can be precise enough to get into the mouth of a tiger and rip it's tongue out ;)

Well...for one thing...I'm sure the shark found out about the tongue ripping technique from Google.

So it only makes sense that the shark would only focus on that.

Well fuck me, that's as easy as using one of it's arms and just reaching in the tigers mouth!
