When you use your binoculars, remember to listen to what people say etc.. Some fun stuff there =) With that card you can run it at any resolutoin with antialias and anisotropic filtering on full I guess =) It ran pretty smooth on my old Radeon 9800 Pro.

Give the HDR setting a try. It should improve some areas.

You must first make sure Anti-Aliasing is disabled because this feature is not compatible with AA. Bring down the console and type “\r_hdrrendering x” (where x represents a number which indicates the type of HDR lighting). There are 11 different types of HDR lighting in FarCry. We have found that the number indicates how the light rays being cast from the HDR lighting are rendered. For example, if you type “\r_hdrrendering 2” we have found this disables the light rays. If you type “\r_hdrrendering 10” or “\r_hdrrendering 11” you will find some very unique ways of rendering light rays. Most people have found, and we agree, that “\r_hdrrendering 7” provides the best quality.
Far Cry's AI was utterly horrible and hugely annoying at times, but it was a very cool game IMO.... and that says something, I ranted like an o'dium about Far Cry all the time.
The first bits are pretty boring. When you get to the ship, it's horrible, but after that, things pick up pace pretty quickly.

Game is pretty f00king hard on realistic (or whatever the highest setting is). I never finished it, got somewhere before the swamps? as I had to format the drive so my saves where lost. :/ Nice game though. Does anyone remember the mission where you are in some facility (thats like right after you meet the first giant rocket wielding mofo) and you had to go upward in a circular path, they had so many fuckers there I kept quick loading that part right at the doorway cuz they kept killing me (some had shields). Took a while but finished that bit.

I played through it recently too, after a recent system upgrade. The game itself is fun, and the graphics still look superb. I think the aiming system is great, and its all very realistic. The only thing that spoils it is a lousy plot, and terrible voice acting. But put those aside, and its one of the better FPS's out there, by quite a margin.

)Byt the game was very fun to play. The first time you get the handglider, its just like... Is all THAT a level? FUCK! I'm so used to farty little room games where you have bad FPS in 5 connected rooms, then you move onto a game where there is an entire island to explore in crazy detail, and its like... God...
Awesome game. I want to get Instincts, which is FarCry 2, because it tells Jacls story AFTER FarCry, but its damn xbox only and the Frame rate and graphics look to be suffering on it
