Don't protest near Parliament

Post by R00k »

Unless you have approval from police first:

Apparently Tony Blair's sister-in-law was protesting against this law with the others.

Um.. what the hell!
That is totally obscene, how can any 1st world government do that. A very dangerous move on the governments part really... Denying freedom of speech is totally unacceptable in any setting.
"If you heard on television that someone in another country were banned from gathering near a government building to stage a legitimate protest you would probably think thank goodness that kind of thing doesn't happen in this country."

aye :(

some sort of control over the area immediately around parliament might not be a bad thing - but this is a bit fucking mental.

there are some absolute bloody gems in that act, the dna stuff is the scariest. pretty sure they put all that incitement to religious hatred crap in there just to get the properly dark things under the radar.

"In addition, the Act makes all offences arrestable offences. This means that anyone arrested for such minor offences as speeding can be required to provide a DNA sample, to be permanently stored in the UK National DNA Database.

Measures to introduce a specific offence of "incitement to religious hatred" were included in early drafts of the Act, but then dropped in order to get the bill passed before the UK general election, 2005. (The offence has since been proposed again by the government, as the Racial and Religious Hatred Bill.)"

what's going to happen if and when we get rid of this pack of dickheads, are people even more stupid and irresponsible going to take over?
