It wasn't because of this (actually, it was during a discussion with my sister about iTunes), but I actually considered buying a Mac. Now that I think about it, it's kind of ridiculous (I've been using PC since I've been 3, and some flavour of windows since ~4), but it occurred to me that everything that Apple releases seems to simply be quality. iTunes imported my music in the background without disrupting my surfing and chatting, and later opening iTunes's library.xml in Microsoft Visual Studio's .XML editor brought my entire system to a halt.

The idea occurred to me now, noticing Longhorn's (I'm still allowed to call it that, right?) transparency effect on the windows just seems kind of... try-hard. It feels like it's jumping up and down saying "Look! Look! I can have pretty windows too!", but the end result between Tiger and Vista being the difference between an expensive steak, and a Big Mac -- the first is exactly how you wanted it, and surpasses expectations; while with the second, you're not exactly sure what the contents are, and somehow continually seems to fall short of expectations.

I've gone over that before. A nice thumbnail system that works beats a poorly named file structure.

It's alright. Idiots miss out on these things every once in a while. Pay attention next time, or get off my forum.

Wow, someone made a spelling mistake at 2am, while doped up on strong painkillers with a migrane? Holy shit!

If you think that's amusing, you really need to get out of the house more. Simple things things amuse simple minds, I guess.

Who remembers his first encounters with Win95? I know there a billions of websites collecting the dialogue-windows but I still find some error messages funny.

Microsoft invented the 'hip version name', not Apple.

Apple is praised for the cat names it uses for OSX releases, yet Microsoft has been doing it for years and years.

Vista would be better as Windows San Diego.

We've already had Windows Chicago, and Windows Memphis.

I can see the horrible office themed Sunday funnies making stupid captions like, "Pista at Vista." :\

Well, it looks a bit better in places, but most of the time its like they just complicated it because they had to keep up with tiger. Take away the bubbles and the ui and its just... win 95... STILL...

When are they going to make a DECENT OS that IS different. I mean look at Tiger it fucking rocks, but its Apple so i wont touch it :icon32:
