You know the thing at the top of the launch tower (?) that looks like it holds the fuel tank in place? It's actually something that feeds some sort of gas into the tank.
With a few minutes to go, it gets removed so the shuttle can take off. When it broke free, I saw a light colored chunk fall out of it and hit the fuel tank. The camera shot was too close to tell if it fell down and hit the orbiter.
Video showed what appeared to be a large piece of debris flying off the external fuel tank two minutes into the flight. The object did not seem to hit the orbiter. Footage also showed what might have been at least two light-colored objects flying off Discovery as the shuttle cleared the launch pad.
"No telling what might be there or what's not there — we hope nothing," deputy shuttle program manager Wayne Hale said.
Yeh it was plain to see
Quite large, nothing major i bet
Where were you when the West was defeated?

he's just repeating shit the news has already covered, what a cunt
Hey tired cunt, the news is talking about something that happened after lift off. You're obviously a stupid twat because you failed to read that what I saw happened before lift off.
I just saw the video of the take off. Never fails to humble me when I see things like that. Also, when you see the huge amount of fuel it's using every second, it's a wonder there's enough room to hold enough gas to get past the first mile.

Avoid the truth, you whiney baby. I clearly said it was something that happened before lift off. The media is reporting about something that happened after lift off.
You lost this one long ago. Go suck off another hobo.
You look like a serious clown riddla. Stop while you're behind.
Funny how technical stuff works… The Russians have been shooting 40 year old rockets all over the place with almost zero trouble whilst the Americans run into all sorts of difficulties all the time with their top of the line tech...
