XBox360 to be released worldwide this year

so we euro's dont have to wait an additional 6+ months for it. huzzah.

Erm, M$ last confirmed it as being a "worldwise" release in november about 3 months ago, and are doing away with the release changes around the world, making games and the 360 all be released on the same day?

And also, M$ already confirmed that "popular" games will work perfectly fine out of the box, with others having to have profiles downloaded via xbox live.

uh, no, they confirmed a US release for november, sir. the worldwide release was just confirmed on the Summit

also, the backwards compatibility is still in the grey, as MS said they might use the patching system, although nVidia is working on a 'translation'-chip

Seeing as the PS3 will play PS2 games, they can *NOT* release 360 that doesn't play Xbox games. Even if the PS3 never played PS2 games, that would of been a massive mistake. Look at all the quality amazing titles the xbox has.

I have NEVER played one of my PSX games on my PS2. Never. Infact, when I got the PS2 in 2001, I never played a PSX game since...

also, the ps2 came when the psx was near its end. the xbox isnt even close to its end.. i use mine a lot, and im pretty sure i'll still play those games when the xbox360 replaces it

That and the fact many games are STILL gonna come out for the original xbox after the 360 launch. I know ill be pissed if i cant play those games on my 360.

Waht about burnout 3, halo 2 etc that are great online? I cant play those anymore? That would suck...

PS3 is a fashion item and will have a price to match. No doubt it will be good (apart from the pad and lack of hard drive), but it WILL be expensive. Look at the PSP, its not THAT amazing but its £180.

At the end of the day, get both. I will. If they were coming out at the same time it would depend on the line up at launch, but the 360 is winning me over.

The point is, the 360 is out in a few months and the ps3 is out spring next year at the earliest. So...
