Non-Nerds beware: 'only-Nerd-Question!' about Versioncontrol

Post by diego »

Hola fellow Nerds,

I got an urgent question: What kind of Version control management software do you use? I am asking because our team is in desperate need of something good in order to avoid nerd-fights over nerd-things.
I tend to try out Subversion (we used that one alot at the academy and i rather liked it). Anybody got any experience with a good CVS?

We use SmartCVS, which is a client front-end application for CVS. There's also a Subversion one. It's a Java application so it's OS independant.

I happen to like Visual Studio. Alot... but I simply don't know enough about SourceSafe and its licensing to actually recommend it to my CEO.
