The White House said in 2003 that Lewis "Scooter" Libby had no role in the exposure of CIA officer Valerie Plame. It also said that Karl Rove, President Bush's top political adviser, was not involved in the release of Plame's identity to reporters.
But Time magazine reporter Matthew Cooper told CNN's "Late Edition" on Sunday that Rove told him Ambassador Joseph Wilson's wife was a CIA agent involved with weapons of mass destruction in a July 2003 conversation after Wilson had raised questions about one of the arguments underpinning the invasion of Iraq.
"After that conversation, I knew that she worked at the CIA, and worked on WMD issues," said Cooper, who appeared before a grand jury investigating the leak last week. "But as I made clear to the grand jury, I'm certain Rove never used her exact name and certainly never indicated she had a covert status."
So is that Rove's defense? Rove said Wilson's wife was a CIA operative, and Dick Cheney's aide Lewis "Scooter" Libby actually did say her name?
So as you can see, since I didn't specify an identity for, "You," that gets me off the hook. Also, with this logic, I'm going to kill Geoff Leach's wife. See, I didn't say what her name is, or define the word, "Wife," so I'm not guilty of anything. What I clearly meant was his wife, you know the thing he mows the lawn with. Did you hear that, Freakaloin? I'm coming for your lawn mower... Also known as your wife.

I don't recall ever saying he was going to. The best line I've heard was the most obvious. It was said on Ron Reagan's MSNBC show. I can't remember the name of the guest he had on, but he was the host of an XM radio show. He said after responding to a twit from NewsMax who laughed the Rove issue off that if it's not a big deal and nothing illegal was done, then why not step forward and admit to leaking her name? If what was done was legal, there should be no problem in doing so.Geebs wrote:He's not going down, get used to it.

The whole thing smells like Memogate II. They're going to slither out of it somehow even though all evidence in the world is there that should destroy them, and somehow the media will be made to look bad.
I wouldn't be surprised if in a month or so there is a FoxNews story that confirms that this whole thing was orchestrated by Joe Wilson himself, who used his wife to push his evil liberal agenda of siding with Saddam in hopes of a payoff Saddam would give if his yellowcake purchases were kept hidden from the United States in order for him to nuke Israel.
