First I'll say this: the guy on the right is an asshole. But he's entitled to his opinion and to voice it.
However, the guy on the left is a disgrace to journalism. Can you get any more biased? Fucking insulting a guest on the show? WTF is the matter with him? This is why I don't watch Fox news. . Pathetic.

I'll correct the basic flaws of that discussion here:
1. Freedom of speech is a right. That means the government or military can never take that away. They can protect that right, but they haven't given it to the people. The bill of rights is basically the people telling the government what they cannot do, not the government telling the people what they can do.
2. Servicemen and women have joined because they have no real skills, or are suffering from post 9/11 hatred. Pat Tillman for example was a skilled football player, but he got mad at the ragheads after 9/11 and wanted to go and fight in Afghanistan where he was killed by a fellow troop.
3. Protecting our rights is a key issue here. Since our own government has determined that Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11 and had no weapons of mass destruction or the ability to build them, this is now admittedly, by the government no less, a war on the offensive. None of our rights, American or human are being defended. In fact, Americans now have a government with a stranglehold on our rights due to the wonders and blunders of the Patriot Act. America is less safe due to the crisis in the middle east, and Iraq is in the same boat.
4. Every troop is a Section 8. The severity of their insanity determines if they're a threat or asset, as well as the degree of their social engineering. Troops are killing machines. Killing is not morally acceptable. Self defense, when no other options are available is the only situation where there is no avoiding it. There has been no conflict since World War II where the United States has been pulled into a war because the opposing faction started it with us.
In fact, we've avoided it many times when it is to our benefit. USS Liberty, anyone?

Sean Hannity (aka the dude on the lefthand side of the screen) is a complete dickhead. Did you guys see the "Hannity and Colmes" coverage of the Terri Schiavo case? It was an unadulterated travesty.
The show is supposed to be a half-liberal (Colmes) and half-conservative (Hannity) discussion hour, but since Fox is completely conservative-leaning they only ever let Colmes speak for the last 2 seconds of any interview. It sux.
Listen to NPR if you have to have news, I guess.... For the UKers here, do you like the BBC?

The only thing you've corrected is any remaining doubt as to whether or not you're totally retarded. Ever told your alleged friend that was in the Navy about these feelings of yours? If he exists, I bet he'd cuff you one.rep wrote:I'll correct the basic flaws of that discussion here:

Yes, Sean Hannity is an utter douche, and not everything he was saying was correct. Like it ever is. But, the little hippie needs to be smacked around on general principles.

The reality is this.
Yes we owe the troops that fought in past battles our deepest gratitude for what they did.
No we dont owe the guys in iraq anything but out pity. pity for being fooled and forced into a war that has nothing to do with our own liberty and that IMHO was fueled by greed and arrogance. That kid was a dick for saying things the way he did, but the reporter was just as big a dick for forcing his view on him and not letting him speak. he didnt come on there for a interview he brought him there, under false pretenses to rape him on national TV cause thats the hard christian right likes to see, punishment of those they feel are wrong and beneth them.
