the new chocolate factory

Post by zeeko »

anyone see this one? I saw it last night and i thought it was maybe a 7.5/10.. the only part i didn't really like were the oompa loompas, they were alright, but the music was kinda crappy and not very catchy, but depp was amazing in it, probably one of his best performances i've ever seen. he was just so weird in it! Anyway i would probably wait to see this on video if you haven't seen it already.

When you download a film, you are downloading terrorism.

Go and pay to watch it. You will make yourself feel 100x better

I watched War Of The Worlds at the cinema and it fucked rocked. The sound is just awesome and the effects really rocked the ground, it was such a cool film to see on the big S.

I watched it again a few nights ago, copy, on the TV at home. lol, first half was ok because it was daylight, but as soon as it got to night time (i.e. half the film) i could just see a few dots wobbling about every now and then... NOT GOOD.

But it's not as easy as that.

Go pick mates up- 8 miles. Drive back down into town to the cinema- 18 miles. Watch film. Drive back / drop off mates - 18 miles. Drive home- 8 miles. That's about 52 miles :p

Add that to the fact cinema prices are retarded these days... £6 to watch a film, £15 at least on food... What the fuck??? How do they get away charging so much...

Because men don't want to look cheap/poor in front of women, and the theatre owners know this to be true.

i was reading the IMDB + watching some trailers for this. being such a big fan of the 1971 version, i'm really really afraid of this one. still haven't read the book though (despite Roald Dahl being one of my favourite authors, from when i was younger) and intend to before i see this new version

That's totally the truth. Matinées are sometimes one quarter of the price of the Friday night first showing. If you want to see a movie and you have a day off, go during the day. Less teeny boppers, less, "Check out my rimz, yo. Ooh, she got fine bootay. Fo' Rill Doe." less phones.

I suppose if you want to see a comedy, you should go at night. Laughter is often contagious, and could make a difference.

The Friday and Saturday night shows are always the most expensive. Fantastic Four was going to be $8. That's small potatoes, but if you think really hard about it you could buy an issue of Fantastic Four, as well as a Fantastic Four action figure for the same price... Throw them in your spare room for a decade, and would you look at that, they've both tripled in price.

In the same time, Fantastic Four II would already be playing as the Fox Sunday Afternoon movie.

Flawed logic. The correct solution would be don't date hungry/thirsty women. :p

LOL because a girl that doesn't want to go out on a date with a loser must be shallow. :P

I'm not trying to insult anyone here fyi either but really. Not everyone is equal in life, it'd be a perfect world otherwise. The reality though is that some chicks feel they deserve to be treated a certain way. If you know how to treat her then you'll find out what she can do for you. If she only expects and does nothing then yeah she's shallow, IF she keeps seeing you anyway.

So if you go to a theater with a girl that deserves to be treated right you better set that opinion aside and have the $ to do what she expects otherwise she'll get another that will. Of course if she looks like she fell off the ugly tree you can do whatever you want, I'm only talking about good looking girls. Cause it all boils down to looks at first, personality is second but it becomes first later on after you've boned her. :smirk:

Anyway... yeah... don't stereotype too hastily otherwise you'll look like a cheapskate.

why try so hard to impress a girl?

and besides, if she has any intelligence, she'll understand that going to a matinee is a better idea.

i mean i guess sometimes its nice to go out at night after dinner, but sometimes its not worth it.

We saw it last night for free...after we paid to see War of the Worlds. WotW was better, but the new Chocolate Factory was better than I expected. I thought the commercials made it look like shit.

Oh, my allowance is ample, but with all the hard work I put into mowing lawns and delivering papers, I'd rather spend it on baseball cards and comic books. :icon15: :icon15: :icon15:

I tend to date girls that don't enjoy buying junk food from movie theatres.

I rarely go see movies with girls anyway - not much of a date if you ask me (at least with the shit they show nowadays).
