The British Open
Tiger is looking tough at the moment.
6 under with 2 bogeys today.
Anyone live near St. Andrews?

I've been there and it's amongst the best golf courses in the world along with Lytham St Anns, Muirfield, Augusta and Pebble Beach. I always try and watch the majors (and the Ryder cup of course) but don't have much interest in the minor tournaments.

Do you ever go to these tournaments TNF? Cause holy hell it takes forever to walk around the golf course following a player. Watching it on TV is much nicer.
I dont know shit about golf and I went to the Houston Shell Open. I couldnt take it. The course was extremely long (one of the longest in the PGA tour) and there was a lot of waiting around.

Never watched an event live. I have gone to a few exhibitions. My first was when I was about 11 or so, my dad played in a tournament with Chi Chi Rodriguez. Chi Chi let me take his birdie putt on the 18th. It was about a 13 footer, broke about 6 inches left to right. I made it. hehe. He gave me his glove after the round - pretty cool deal for me at the time.Chupacabra wrote:Do you ever go to these tournaments TNF? In 1998 I watched Tom Lehman and Annika Sorenstam and two others (can't remember their names) play at a country club. Was impressive to watch...they'd never played the course before, just had kids from the local high schools caddying for them, didn't take much time, and each shot well under par...
That was before Annika really went nuts and started dominating golf.
I went to the LPGA skins game here outside of Dallas several years ago. It was Annika, Dottie, Karrie and Laura Davies.
Lot of fun to watch, but since there was only one foursome you had to stragecially decide what shots you were going to watch on every hole.
Watch the drive on this hole and then try and watch them putt.
Too many people had already run ahead two shots before.
I've never been to a full tournament, but if I did I think I would plant myself in a good spot for a while and not follow any one golfer.

Woods is too good. Too bad he couldn't have won the U.S. Open...would have been exciting to see a run for the Grand Slam.
And Nicklaus is an annoying, whiny baby.
As great as he was, he has always been, IMHO, one of the least likable players. Every interview he's given in the last few years has just been pissing and moaning about how his old body just isn't able to golf any more, and he's just going to quit...god he annoys me. I guess he was never really a fan favorite in his early days either...That was Arnie's thing.

That's awesome. The closest I ever got to PGA was when my brother got a VIP pass to Hazeltine. He gave me a ball marker from the tour. Sweeeeeet... :icon8:
Oh...and I would've fucked up the putt. :icon32:
