looking for a gallery script.

Post by dnoyc »

so i'm making a website/forum/gallery for a bunch of friends.

i need a gallery software that will allow me to give certain people rights to upload, but not delete/change pictures that are already on there.

i've been trying to use this http://www.communityserver.org but it really doesn't do what i need it to. in order to give people the right to upload i need to make them administrators, which would mean they'd have rights to delete stuff too.

so anyone have any suggestions? it can be asp.net or php i don't really care as long as it works.

i'm also looking for a news script if anyone can recommend a good one, but it's not a huge priority at the moment.

haha.. i read the topic, scanned and saw asp.net, and posted communityserver as a reflex.

Here's something I built using ngallery, the project the cs.org gallery is based on. The image links are broken, but I cant fix it because I dont work there anymore

I think cs.org gives the administrator the ability to allow people to create and maintain their own gallerys, but not someone elses. I dont think it has a shared functionality though

yeah that's the problem.

here's what basically what i need to do. i'm making the website for the people i ride with. it's http://www.uclabma.com

when we all go on a ride everyone takes pictures, and it's a pain to go around getting pictures from everyone, so what i want to do is give moderators the ability to create a gallery, say "June 8-10 MotoGP" and then everyone who has pictures from that event can just upload them. i messed around with the cs.org gallery for a couple of weeks but i can't get it to do that. i thought ngallery pretty much is cs.org now, so i didn't think it would have that feature, do you know that it does?
