F1 - Silverstone

Post by Don Carlos »

Good race, Kimi was really quick,
good few scraps further down the field, Culthard and Villelnerve
most noticable. Montay and Alonso really pushed each other
hard at points. Ferrari need to get there shit into one sock and
start doin summat to there car asap.

Good race tho :)

F1 isn't that good any more, it's all automatic. They should have manual gearboxes (not just paddles), and have to propperly race without a computer helping them.

What is this aerodynamic stuff happening at the moment? Not really followed it this year, tend to watch rally stuff more :D.

Ohhh Cry, are you going to say the same for the WRC?

but changing the Tranny to a tiptronic style ( i said STYLE >:E ) tranny, that leaves the driver to consentrate more on keeping his line and breaking.

its nothing like Driving an automatic, but its simular to driving a manual. ( with the lack of clutch ofcorse. )

they are gonna get rid of some of the aerodynamics. plus harder tires.
(and shitty little V8s)

the cars at the moment are just fast and efficient, they favour the smooth style of driver.

they need to remove loads of aerodynamics, get back to 3500cc, have shitty brakes, no electronic aids and have drivers winning because they have the balls to go to fucking quick.

i would love to see them driving something like this;

Image

sliding all over the place, locking up into every corner.

the only electronic Aid that i enjoy is ABS.. after Driving me CArs with out, there are only a FEW situations that i would have enjoyed to have abs. else, i wouldent really want it.

Yeh this is a good point, but what i would like to see is
the cars made quicker. Simple as that. Back in the good ole 90's
they made that odd cone like "gearbox" that was 1 big gear,
no it kept the maximum amount of power running through the car
at all time. If you listened to it the revs didnt change. It was an
odd sound but the cars were stupidly fast, and back in them
days the cars were allowed Turbos too. Thats what we need.
Also the fact the dynamics are bad enough to make all the
drivers complain about overtaking need to be sorted. apparently
the way they make the air move behind them is like running
into turbulance in a plane. Nightmare.

Also the old tyrrell rocked worlds

He WOULD have been a "god" of the racing world but he was cut short

Look at a racing god then you gotta look at, im sad to say, Micheal Schumacher, Alain Prost and Juan Manuel Fangio.

Micheal Schumacher practically holds every record in the book

Yeh i spose
sub par this season so far
they tried summat woth there cars that was never gonna happen. They should have just put there bollocks on teh table and put the 05 car out from the start instead of the 04 car modified. That being said, the Bridgestones are not upto much this season either...

yeah, huge mistake not to launch the season without the 05 car. obviously other teams made leaps and bounds with their 05's which surprised the crap out of Ferrari and the F1 circus.

indeed
They have got to have realised the season is gone for them and be workin on the 06 car now. This is the only way they will get the title back. But i have notice that Barrichello is doin very well of late. Keepin up with Schumacher quite well.
I think retirement looms after the 06 season for Schumacher really. He's got an enormous personnal fortune now, and could have retired some years ago. I dont think he will ever leave the scene, maybe a test driver for Ferrari in 07?

i'm not sure about 06, but i'd hate to see him retire after such a horrendous season. as for future endeavours, i'm sure he'll be involved with F1 in some fashion. i would see him as a team director or something for Ferrari. i dont' see him working with or for another team.
