Gamepad controllers for PC - do they all just suck?
I've tried a number of them (including the Nyko Airflo Ex PC, which has the ability to map keyboard keys to any button and all around is a bit more feature rich than JoyToKey), but all of them don't feel right.
I've tried connecting a standard Xbox/PS2 controller to the PC, but I think the dpad on both of them sucks. On the PS2, the problem isn't so much the dpad layout and feel as it's the fact that the pad gets fucked over really quickly after heavy use.
What I need:
1) A good DPAD. You know, for SNES emulation and what not.
2) Buttons that "feel right" and are responsive (PS2 controller buttons seem ok, something like that).
3) With analog stick, but quality of it doesn't really matter.
Any suggestions fellas?

From what I've heard and read the Saitek P880 and the Logitech RumblePad/Dual Action are pretty good.

Same here.stocktroll wrote:I wouldnt recommend the logitech dual action. No complaints besides it broke on me in like 2 months but i see nothing special to pay 25-35 bucks on it that makes it better than the $10 generic pads at best buy.
I bought it and the analog stick is sseriously fucked up. I found the support forum for their drivers, and there are tons of people with the exact same problem, and they wont recognize that they have a faulty product.

[size=75][i]I once had a glass of milk.
It curdled, and then I couldn't drink it. So I mixed it with some water, and it was alright again.
I am now sick.

This is what I use. Feels great in the hands and buttons can be mapped to keyboard keys. Works great IMO.

what is that, a nostromo something or other? i've used that and a logitech dual and both analog sticks stopped functioning on both models. was left with only about 50% movement on both after a couple months. also, the nostromo was a bitch to install on win 2000 on my friends comp. don't think we ever got it working.Berserker wrote:

i use saitek now. you don't always get full range with analog (90%) but i've had a p880 and now a p2500 ( lost the 880 in a move
my point: saitek over logitech and that one pictured above. thank you.
edit: ah belkin n45?
I also got the Belkin, and it's better than the Logi Dual Action, considering it works.
But it's not great. It doesn't feel as natural, and the little loop on the bottom is nothing but bad news. The software works well, too. I just wish it could run in the background, as it makes a little fuss on startup then sits in the tray.
