Where were you when the West was defeated?

i've had the same putter for probably 10 years now, my DualForce550. I don't think a better traditional putter has come out since then, or at least one worth the $$$

The Rossi Dualforce?
I had a nice Never Compromise that was 150 bucks a few years ago, but was stolen this year out of my bag while I was coaching golf.
This one was $169 after tax, so not too expensive, but not too cheap either. The Scotty Cameron putters that are around 300 bucks are just fucking ridiculously priced.

Yea, that's what I meant. Rossi was the series by odyssey...that's a rossi series...or maybe the rossi name as added after the fact. Same thing though. Nice putters. Odyssey started a trend...

How long have you been golfing for? What's the handicap at these days?

going onto my 11th year golfing (that is a depressing thought). These days the handicap isn't doing too well- I've only been out playing on weekends due to longer-than-usual summer working hours (I'm interning at a law firm and they're keeping me for 12 hour days, ugh). My official handicap is a 12.4 right now and falling, but I've been shooting better than handicap almost every round I've played this year. I had a huge break-through in May/early June, shooting a 34 on the front, 35 on the back one day when I played my absolute best (par 71 course, 6739 yds long i believe). I haven't come within 5 strokes of that since then, but I'm chalking that up to a lack of playing. There aren't any courses close to Boston College, so I can't play during the year, and when I come home I only have a few months to get my swing back in shape. This year was the first year in which I've had the opportunity to play golf a few times during the winter (over spring break and easter break) and hit balls twice a week over my xmas vacation. August should see my handicap falling more, since I stop working July 29th and start playing religiously until I go back on August 28th.
How's your game (pre-surgery, of course)? And when do you expect to get back out on the course?
The brand is "Yes" - the model is the "Natalie". Apparently, this brand uses female names for all their putters. Dunno why.
its a caddyshack thing.
they give it a grils name so you don't have to sound so gay when you do the ted knight "oh, billy, billy, billy, OOOOHHHH billy, billy, billy" gag over a big put.
I've been using the same putter since '84. only part of my game that is semi solid.

My game was doing well, pre-surgery. I have been struggling with consistency, but fired a 66 a few weeks ago. I had a rough end to last year, finishing with rounds something like - 72, 69, 71, 74, 85, 83, 88. Something just got into my mind at the end of last year (probably my upcoming wedding), so I pretty much just dropped the golf altogether. Coaching golf gives me a lot of time to work on my wedge play, and that is where your scoring comes from. I've been really working a lot around the greens, 40 yards and in. It is helping escape trouble holes. I think pars made from the wrong fairway, getting up and down from 35 yards, are almost as satisfying as birdies.
My handicap is also pretty rough right now, though...(not turning my 66 in...hehe.) I am at a 5 handicap right now. Hopefully will be back to a 2 or so soon.
