I quit 19 months ago now, and yet I still get a craving every once in a while, or a dream about sneaking a quick ciggy.
I also quit booze at the same time, partly to remove one of the things that increases the need to smoke, partly because I'm fed up with the whole booze culture in the UK at the moment. It's generally assumed in Britain that you can't have a good time without having a drink.
A month later, I found I was drinking too much caffeine to compensate, so I cut that out too.
Granted, I'm lardier now, but much more happy about myself. I never have a hangover, I never have problems sleeping, and I'm not forever hacking up gack.

If you're a regular smoker then trust me, you smell. :icon26:losCHUNK wrote:i really dont think i smell, i know smokers cant smell it but im pretty conscience about the way (and others) smell and everytime i sniff myself all i can smell is deodrant
now if i smell my fingers right after a fag then i can smell it, so i dont think i smell
the teeth i brush regulary, i know they aint pearly whites but still
I quit 2 1/2 years ago after having smoked for 22. Took about a year for my smelling sense to have improved noticeably.
With my new and improved sense of smell I quickly realised something I had been oblivious to for many years; up close, smokers smell like old ashtrays.
