I've never heard of pci express but I'm sure there's an agp equivalent that blows that away too if you want to continue this pointless discussion, all I'm saying is Ceramic brakes are better than metal ones. So fuck you.
tnf's not comparing metal brakes to ceramic brakes. He's asking about the pads.

EDIT... Yeah, what he said. ^^^^

It's an analogy prick, like if I compare you to a whale it's not because you like to swim.

That is quite true. I was under the impression you were talking about the entire brakes (rotor and pads) when you said "high-end brakes." I wouldn't consider them "high-end" because a large number of new cars are now equiped with ceramic pads.

"High-end" to me suggests high velocity brakes, like racing brakes or airline brakes. THOSE are ceramic rotors. I misunderstood what you were talking about. :icon26:

Perhaps today they aren't but back when they were made, and I think it was by porche or for some type of lemans racing car they were definitely high end at the time. They still are the brakes most racing vehicles use though as far as I know.

And before anyone goes apeshit again I'm not entirely sure I remember the history of ceramic brakes THAT well k?

Well I guess they do have other types... carbon-ceramic and carbon-carbon composite brakes which sound cool.

Errrr, WerldHed.. Ceramic breaks are HIGH-END in every sence of the word.. BUT! usually the ones that are hitting the streets are a Ceramic/Organic Hybrid.

Ceramic Breaks are used for Racing Series like The GT1/2/3 series. ( other people use diffrent compounds and etc )

The problem with FULL ceramic breaks is that they dont Really apply to much stoping power untill they come up tot temp ( what ever they where designed for ) Wile other breaks ( IE Organic ) will Bite even at low temps.

in a persional word, i run MONROE Premium break pads. they are a Ceramic/Organic mix.. they bite a hell of a lot more then my stock ( 1990 Nissan ) Pads. and on the highway, They bite Even harder.

i would easly Say that stopping distance has stopped ~15Feet when it comes to highway speeds.

So anyway, if i was you, i would hit em up.. weather Organic or Ceramic ( OR BOTH! :o ) Less Dust, Beter Stoping power.. you will Feel alot beter about your breaks if you do.

I adapt my speed in accordance to environment and circumstance. This enables me to be satisfied with my stock brakes.

Your first analogy was fine. But there is no AGP equivalent that blows PCI express away. And you can run PCI cards in SLI mode.

Ohh sorry, thats somthing that i Jumped over. they are longer. FUll ceramic's last SO god damn long, the Hybrids will last a few thousand more then regular.

make sure you check tyour rotor's before you run out and get a set, if they are in bad shape.. they will get heat spots.

That's sort of what I was saying. I didn't mean that they weren't better, just that most new cars are now equipped with them (the ceramic-organic composits, that is). Thus, I don't think of them as "high-end." Racing brakes, yes, I would consider those high-end.
