Going to get the front brakes on the subaru replaced today. Was recommended ceramic brake pads (they told me Subaru is putting them on all the new cars). Anyone know if these things are as good as they claim (much longer lasting, no brake dust, etc.)?
They are good, but shit cold. They need to warm up before they really starting going well. Once warm, they will stop you on a penny

Ceramic breaks is what's used for high end breaks. Definitely good stuff, it's the technological equivalent to a PCI vs AGP videocard in your computer.
Hello my friends
I guess we’ll eventually replace every usual asbestos
brakes with new ceramics ones because of the asbestos ban.
I think that Subaru build solid and reliable cars.
Take Care. Don’t drive too fast bro.

Never used them, but I've heard they have less feel. Basically they're "on" or "off" and that's about it. Just what I've heard...
Other than that, they have very little fade; last much longer; and can stop you quicker.
Why can you sometimes smell peanuts in the métro?
Mechanical brakes relay the electrical brakes in the last 20 metres of the train's run. They are meant to make the braking process more pleasant for the passengers. They are cast in brake shoes made of cherry wood coated with peanut oil, which produces the particular odour that is perceived when the train brakes at high speeds. Here is the link for more about our metro http://www.stcum.qc.ca/English/en-bref/a-faq3.htm
The biggest underground with it's almost city like in the world.

I've never heard of pci express but I'm sure there's an agp equivalent that blows that away too if you want to continue this pointless discussion, all I'm saying is Ceramic brakes are better than metal ones. So fuck you.

He was asking about brake pads Kracus, not discs.
Pete, asbestos hasn't been used in brake pads or clutches for a long, long time.
