PSP tricks and emulators?

Post by o'dium »

Got my PSP here, already got movies, pictures and music working.

A few things though... How do i change the colour of the main menu background? I've seen pics of it red

And are emulators in a decent state yet or not?

bollocks, 1.5... I heard that locks you out of a few things (like UMD on the memory stick)

Not yet, sony have made the firmware not work with it...

And guess what, new games will only work if the firmware is 1.50, and if its not the latest, it will patch it or not let you play...

Meaning you will be updating your emulators and games etc al lthe damn time trying with sony trying to combat pirates...

2 UMD loaders have been released so far for 2 games. Meaning yes they work and 'presumably' in the future similar loaders will be used to bypass the new games forcing an update of firmware. If that dosen't work there could be a dump-system in place, but who knows right now...

Emulators work great. Well, most of them are fine. Genesis, GBC, NES, work fabulously. SNES9x works, but it's kind of slow, but it has a good number of tweaks you can do to make it faster.

Then there are a dozen or so homebrew games you can play with, various magazines from http://www.pspmagazines.com, and some offbeat homebrew apps are in development like an ftp client and vnc. :)

This is a good site for frequent updates and their file library is nice:

Loaders allow games to run of the memory stick so you can guess why sony is mad about the homebrewing scene. :s

Yup, it turns out that for emu's and game and everything you need two memory cards and have to do some kind of switch fast or something, thats why it wont work... :icon33:
