I don't think most americans realise just how much more it costs living here, what with high petrol prices, road taxes, high insurance, high VAT and everything.

aye we got cities aswell
we get taxed to shit on our wages, council tax, petrol tax, car tax, TV licence etc. then you add your bills on afterwards (water, electric, car ins)
it adds up to be a shitload of moneh, which is why its best to get as much shite as you can before you make the big haul out
