What's going on with these files?

Post by bork[e] »

Now looking at the pic I see Windows media is finding more files on my hdd than I wanted, but what's with windows saying there is 'x' number of files and winamp saying a totaly different number?

Yeah, windows media was looking in other places. Noticed that after uploading the image. But I was mainly wondering why winamp wasn't showing as many as that folders properties showed.

I'm sure about the hidden files, and everytime a new songs goes in I re-open the file via winamp, refreshing the songs there.

I haven't noticed winamp not displaying any songs, only noticed it when I checked the number a few minutes ago.

edit: Winamp doesn't have any kind of limit on the number of files it can hold does it.

edit2: Ahh, nevermind... After removing about 20 the number in winamp goes down 20, after putting them back it goes back up 20.

Hidden files? A thumbnail system file maybe.
You've added more tracks since making the playlist?

the albumart files are set as "hidden" and by default aren't visible. there will also be desktop.ini files in almost every directory which are set as both "hidden" and "system". Both albumart/thumbnail files and desktop.ini files will be listed in the folder properties bit but won't be added to winamp.
