Sure a few dozen years ago it was dope as hell, but now. its just "bleh" if anything..
No its a piece of shit because its a mass-produced Pioneer from Best Buy. Should atleast get the Premier series if you want to get a Pioneer. I picked up Kenwood's top-of-line unit for the eclipse because I wanted to pick up a 20gb keg but I'm so unimpressed with the unit that I'm not even going to bother with the keg. As far as I'm concerned Clarion is still the best when it comes to mobile receivers.

Oh and don't bother with those Fosgate speakers. Pick up some Infinity Kappa component speakers on ebay.
:dork:
Which part would you like me to reply to?

From what I've heard with my own ears, Clarion is the best. I guess I did forget Alpine who also makes very good receivers.

Brand new Kappas on ebay cost less than Fosgates from the store && Infinity > Fosgate && Component > Coax

Clarion is the best?! I couldn't disagree more strongly. Having heard both Rockfords are vastly superior.

i'm not going to get into an audio quality discussion regarding different HU's, but for you to say that "mass produced" Pioneers suck is a bit generalized. Sure the Premiere series MAY sound CLEANER, but they won't sound better. the DAC's are the same and, afaik, the rest of the internals are the same other than the pre-out voltage which is 6.5v(?) for the Premiers.

hah if only it was a stuck thermostat :P

sounds like a blocked coolant channel in the block or head.

i had that before, the presure it can cause kills rads.

mine happend in a 307cu and it was intermitent

in the end my guess was a nut or some kinda chunk in there flapping around from the factory causeing my grief.
its called working from the ground up, if the thermos is FINE, then you look else ware..

a head is about ~200-500 ( depending on the engine/make etc ) wile a thermo's is about ~$10

especally if that is the 3.1, i really dont think that it would be a head.
i'd aggree with you there. the 3.1 in my cavalier was bulletproof... but i did change 3 thermos and one radiator over the course of the 6 years i owned it... but nothing major ever went wrong, hell > 130,000 miles on the clock and it hadn't even started to lose any oil.
