[size=75][i]I once had a glass of milk.

It curdled, and then I couldn't drink it. So I mixed it with some water, and it was alright again.

I am now sick.

BTW, 12ms is actually pretty good for an LCD, but if you plan on using the monitor for gaming (which I know you will, nerd), you'll want the lowest response time possible. 8ms is available now, and 4ms is here/almost here. And if you are using it for gaming, maybe its better to get a high-spec CRT monitor? LCD is popular with the fashion bitches and those who don't have much space, but (for gaming at least), nothing beats a top-spec CRT with huge resolutions, and flat response times.

My laptop display (great as it is) runs at 60hz/16ms delay, and I can't play Q3 on it at all. I'm sure its fine for games that don't demand immediate response, but to these CRT eyes, its just unplayable for FPS's.

gramps, Samsung is the leader.. in responce times as well as quality. this makes a HUGE diff..

Also, you get USED To the latency issues, this is why you see it as normal/good

Thing is with the response time, I borrowed a Dell TFT this weekend and I think the response time is 12 and I see no ghosting at all and the picture quality is superb. So that's why I am now thinking of going the TFT route, I never knew they were so good for games.

I have a 22" CRT and I have been comparing the 2 over the weekend and on ALL the games I played the TFT looked a zillion times better. The deifnition was in a different league. Also they are a lot cooler as a 22" CRT chucks out way too much fucking heat.

It may need some tweaking yes. But even so, the definition on this Dell TFT is excellent.

aaaah that might explain it
those iiyama's tend to be too dark or dim.
i have the 511 pro and i recently had it replaced because even at its brightest setting, i had virtually no reds, and (to illustrate) i couldnt see the difference between the two background colors here at q3w.
hurray :/

I have a massive desk so the space is not an issue. The heat they chuck out in the summer, and the definition is an issue though.

shame about the definition, my Iiyama display is still perfect after 5 years.

Look at the bright side, in the winter your monitor will give you enough heat to warm up your studio :D

Why don't you look for the widescreen Dell 20" 2005fpw LCD? It's the same screen as the Apple Cinema 20"
