Easiest way to maximize the window is to go hunting for wallpaper or high resolution pr0n, load up an image wider than the screen and then maximize it. It will fill up the available screen space.

Thanks, I'll go have a look at that one on the web. I was considering the IOGear KVMs anyway.

 Apple + down arrow or up arrow. I mean ffs it's Apple, so to scroll down you logically use the down key, so to skip to the end it's logical that you'd add an additional key. Usually the command (Apple) key is that additional key. That's what an intuitive OS is about. Logical key for logical command, Command key to make that logical command more powerful.

I suggest you learn to use an OS properly before you berate it.

And if the Apple UI is so bad where does that leave Windows?

I agree. I think it's pathetic that whenever I turn my mac on, I don't get a bunch of speech balloons popping up to tell me that there are unused icons on the desktop and I must do something about it now now now now now. I bet even if Apple manages to implement this great feature in OS X, they won't figure out how to get the same balloon to pop up again straight after I've closed it.
