THIS IS JUST LIKE THAT TIME I *insert random, semi-funny event here*
I was hoping this wouldn't happen, but it looks like the creators o Family Guy are just playing on the same old tricks they do before. I mean, that's okay, but couldn't they at least let up on the "THIS IS JUST LIKE THAT TIME I" thing?
:\
Family Guy in a nutshell:
The episode the week before was excellent... definitely in my top ten all time. The episode this week I thought was pretty bad... for me it was the worst this season. The way that Lowis just appeared at the end healed from her injuries was a terrible was to end the episode.
American Dad, in contrast, I though was pretty good. The Karl Rove bit was classic.

It goes like this:
Opener
Location scene
random chatter
OBSCURE REFERENCE/FLASHBACK #1
story established
new location
side gag (news reporters, old molester, chicken, etc.)
B-Plot established for secondary characters
OBSCURE REFERENCE/FLASHBACK #2
chatter
OBSCURE REFERENCE/FLASHBACK #3
chatter
chatter
OBSCURE REFERENCE/FLASHBACK #4
racism funnies
chatter
REFERENCE THAT ONLY NERDS GET #1(Star Wars, D&D, Obey Giant)
chatter
story climax
OBSCURE REFERENCE/FLASHBACK #5
conclusion
And so on.
You know what's great about the show? The fact that their side gags are so accurate. When The Simpsons does this, you can tell it's old people writing the scripts. When Family Guy has a side gag it's always true to whatever it's spoofing... For example the Justice League of America was on in some new episode and out of all people they had Aquaman there... That's like having Namor The Sub-Mariner instead of Wolverine.
