QUAKE II

Sup all im a newbie to this forum...Finally found out how to post! haha couldnt see that button but anywayZ i got into quake II many years ago when i was in middle school and stopped playing for about two years, then got back into it, i loved it i did a little mapping (amature of course) and some skinning i loved everything about quake II then QIII came out. WTF does anyone still play Quake II? other then Gamespy? because i cant make a server on Gamespy? or has my tourch just died?

Start your server like this: quake2 +set dedicated 1 +set deathmatch 1 +set public 1 +setmaster q2master.planetquake.com +map q2dm1

Check this page for a list of master servers.

Where are you located Arcaic? I have a friend who plays Q2 regularly. If you're around close to Norway or in Europe somewhere maybe you can play on the servers he's on =)

i used to play on the Zone, haha i love it could make names and all that good stuff, but no ones ever on their anymore...shoot. no good. Mplayer? is that like The Zone.

Heh, I used to play Q2 there too. Years ago. Had a lot of fun. Now I just hookup with my brother and play maybe 2 or 3 times a year.

A lot of you may love QIII and prolly Quake 4 when it comes around. but i just cant forget Q2, its some of my best memories! first game i ever did level editing. First game i ever skinned or even modeled! i remember the mods, jump maps, it was all a blast, and joining and starting clans and trying to become a railer....which all of that just isnt the same with Quake III. Although the leveling and skins/models are "cooler" with QIII quake two just holds awsome memories ((Q2DM1)) and i loved it.

wolf3d was the first game i lvledited. didnt do anything serious till Doom though. Hellmaker was a great (if not the best) map editor around back then.

q2 rocks but i find it gets bland later on in the game
