I do get the bridgestone runners are going on about tho.
Earlier in the season Ferrari wanted to change the tyres but all the Michelines said no. They are just following on from that. GG in a way, but it shit.

GG Michelin too :dork:

the FIA, for good reasons, have strict homologations for any modifications to any of the 19 circuits. with such short notice, i'm guessing, they could not approve.

apparently, in the rule book, the FIA says that each team is not only supposed to have rain tyres alongside the race tyres, but also, a LESSER performance tyre in case of any technical issues that could (and did) arise from a defect.

interesting.

i was listening to the commentary earlier and said each team are offered 2 different sets of tyres from mich, each 2 tyres are different for each team

most of the tyres gave way meaning that the problem is the way that the tyres are made

assuming that the lesser performance tyres are also mich, the problem still probaly existed

that's possible, yes, but it's also possible that the lower performance tyre does not have the "flaw" since it is a different design. mere speculation, but interesting nonetheless.

So if the Minardi's finish they get 7 points in total :D Something nice to take from it. 7 cheap points, but still.

true, but i was listening and they were also saying that the problem was in the carcass of the tyre, the camber of the bend forces the tyre wall to fold in underneath itself which is why they were blowing (they explained it better)

im guessing that the lesser performance tyres would be just a harder compound or someshit

but i only know as much as they told me so

What I'm curious to know is why they could just let the Bridgestone teams use completely new sets of tyres if they allow Michelin to fly some in. Surely that's a logical solution so that no-one gets an advantage from tyre-wear.
