cds/dvds are cool (and loads easier) but i miss mix tapes. could spend ages making a mixtape for a lass whose laundry i wanted dropped.

thinking up the right collection of tunes and then sitting at my record player stitching them together on a tdk. finding snippets of movie audio to put between tracks and creating a little 90 minute trip that was one side of scene-setting cheeriness and one side of music for fucking to - then getting a tape back a day or two later that gave some indication of how likely they were to enjoy the same parties/fuck creatively/be difficult to dump - the stuff of teen romance.
