FYI, nails fucking suck

Post by Nightshade »

When they're in your back tire. Walked into the garage and found my rear tire flat as a fucking pancake Thursday morning. Fortunately it only had a couple hundred miles left on it, so I ordered a set of Michelin Pilot Powers.
I must have picked up the nail while returning a movie on Wednesday night. What freaks me out is the fact that I was doing well over 100mph on the way back, with said nail in said tire. :paranoid:

Nah, they were ok, just time for them to go. I DO need to fool her into thinking that my exhausts are crappy so I can get some carbon fiber Akrapovics with my next bonus check. Chances of that happening? Two: Slim and none, and Slim's busy.

He said "returning a movie". My guess is a rental.

It's not going to do anything besides maybe look better? BTW, I'm gonna be picking up a mint 01 f4i (ideal stunt bike) with 576 miles wednesday/thursday. Owned.

They'll sound a LOT better, not that the stock exhausts sound bad. Also, I'll get a few HP out of it, maybe 5 at the most. But, once I get the pipes, the Power Commander's next, and with the right map that can be another 10hp. It's not a guaranteed 10hp, but it's possible. And they just look fucking SWEET.

You can fix those for a couple bucks can't you?

I can understand fixing one on a motor bike could be sketchy though.

Yes, I could plug it. It would be a lot more efficient if I just shot myself outright, though.

I've ridden with plugged tires at over 120, I've never heard a horror story from plugged tires on bikes, happens all the time.

If you're all into nice looking exhaust, eye that dual devil high mount. It's sex :P

I'm sure that there's every chance it would work fine, but the idea just gives me the heebie-fucking-jeebies.

And that high-mount exhaust wouldn't look very good stuffed under the tail on my bike. :smirk:

yeah nails suck.

first one, i just got to my bike and saw my tire flat. i actually plugged it up, and still haven't changed it (spare bike). this was over a year ago, but the tire is pretty much gone anyway (pilot sport). i rode on the plugged tire at over 100mph with no problem.

second one i was doing 90ish in a sweeper with a passanger, when i felt my bike shaking. had to ride it to the bottom of the canyon, but when i got there it was completely flat. i got this one patched up from the inside, but in retrospect i should have changed it because that piece of shit bridgestone oem tire made me lowside later. luckily no damage at all due to sliders. now i'm rocking the pilot powers and they are awesome. i'll probably be using these tires until michelin comes out with a new model.

edit: and i have a yosh carbon trs + BMC race filter + PC3USB on the way. i got galfer ss lines, and AFAM sprockets + DID EVR3 520 chain ready to go on too.

i just need to take this fucking final (i hate EE), graduate, and then it's time to ride. can't wait for laguna seca.

edit2: maybe inolen will teach me to stunt :icon31:. we gotta when you get your bike.

I have a nail in my back tyre too (car), left it in, the tyre slowly loses pressure every couple of weeks so I just pump it up again, sucks.

So take it out and plug it. :p It'll cost you like 7$

Yea but I can't be bothered :p.

I have an air-compresser in the garage, only takes a few seconds to pump it up.

Yeah but a hole like that will eventualy get bigger until you're forced to buy a new tire or worse you get a flat out on the road somewhere when the tire finaly gives.
