Re: Nike Free
to get back to the original point of the thread-Dave wrote:Has anyone tried these shoes? I always have trouble finding running shoes with my odd feet so I decided to go the opposite direction and get shoes that would challenge my feet instead of over supporting them. It's an odd feeling, but you get used to them fairly quickly and they hardly weigh anything.
pic for reference:
Nike "Free" shoes are meant to simulate running barefoot. If you've ever watched pro runners, you'll notice that they all land on the balls of their feet rather than on their heels (as most people do and as most modern footware prompts people to do). the most efficient and thus best (especially in terms of joints etc) way to run is on the balls of your feet, which is what you naturally do when you aren't wearing clunky running shoes. Imagine, for example, running on sand- you quickly learn to run balls first and your body adapts itself back to its original (aka normal) running form. These shoes are meant to simulate that and thus provoke you into improving your form and efficiency.
I wore these back when I was... ten.

A reference to a pair of legs that have no defined end of the calf area as well as no defined beginning of the ankle area. Does not only refer to fatty legs, simply shapeless legs.

I was going to get some of those in blue. They have pretty good ventilation don't they? I want something I can wear without socks in the summer that will have some cushion, but at the same time not stink to high hell after days of being worn barefoot.
BTW Dave - don't take style or fashion advice from this place.
