Case Logic ProSleeves space saving Ownage

CDS 100 50 Pack at J&R Music world.

My wife and I are trying to consolidate some space and my CD collection seems to be taking up most of the wallspce in the office. They are all neatly arranged in racks on the wall, but she would preferr them out of site

especially since I have it all ripped on my media server. I never use the CD.

We were going to buy the CD books like I have most of my CDs in, but she's really anal about having things in order. It would suck to have re-arrange a whole book just to fit a new CD in alphabetical order.

So I ordered up Some ProSleeves and DAMN do they sabe some serious space while keeping things easily organized. I have a few CD cases that have drawers which they fit in and the flexible tab at the to you can easily thumb through all the CDs until you find what you need.

Sweet. I have a few of those 320 and 240 folders from Fellowes. They're great, but I've been wanting a system like this for a while, but that stuff has been so damned expensive :/

I'll check some sites and see what the price is here in Norway =)

Thread hijacking:

Is there a program that literally does this as simply as I'm about to say:

1. You put a CD in the drive.
2. It rips it all to whatever format you'd like (In my case, mp3pro for most, mp4 for the quality stuff.)
3. It then dumps it all into a jukebox for you.
4. WITHOUT you having to touch a keyboard or mouse, or load the program to begin with.

I already know iTunes can't do it that easily, so fuck off. I'm talking something so easy that a few minutes after ripping the CD it would kick it out of the drive and then show me on an LCD screen or remote that it's in the library.

oh, on a related topic, an interesting new product came out recently.

100+ cd/dvd rom indexer

its pretty neat... i was playing with one at work yesterday.

That is fucking awesome.

EDIT: But a bit too expensive for an electronic shelf.

EDIT2: Picked up one of these a few months back, still haven't filled it and it's got *all* my CDs in it. Am considering permanently ditching all my album/DVD sleeves because of the amount of space this thing saves:

yeah, the price is because its brand effing new... will probalby come down in price after a few months.
definately handy to be able to stuff all your cds into a searchable database... if i was going to invest in some form of CD storage i'd certanly go for one those.

oh, sizewise its about the same dimensions as a projector... matter of fact, in person it looks just like a projector only without the lense.

I was looking into the indexer thingy, not that one though... But I don't ever need to grab my CDs for anything they are just there to keep the original media I payed for...

If anyone needs the 2 white Case Logic CD books in Picture 3 I believe they are 100 capacity books. Now that they are empty, I was going to toss them, but...

They are about 8 years old and have little or no dammage to the sleeves inside. The binding on one of the boos has separated from the front page, but all pages are still attached to the back cover. PM me I'll ship them out to the first person who reguests them.

Thanks I've been searching for something to go with our couch since it was delivered in December. I finally settled on the table last month, I'm glad you like it, finding a table was a pain in the arse.

:icon19: I have that same cubby shelf in my hallway only much bigger... I really don't use the CD's anymore so I wanted a smaller and easier way to store them away, making it easy for my wife to keep them in alphabetical order. :icon14:

I prefer jewel cases. I used sleeves for a long time, but the damage to the discs isn't worth the space-saving, IMO. Plus, it makes it more difficult to locate a cd you want, having to shuffle through all the sleeves.

Try reading before making a comment

The protect the CDs as well as if not better than the cd cases. Maybe cheap sleeves will do dammage, but with the workout I put my CaseLogic books through I trust them totally.

They are much easier to locate the CD all you need to do is riffle your thumb over the top of the sleeves the tabs fold back exposing the next CD in line.

I read it the first time, and there wasn't anything new the second time I read it, so I don't see how my comment should change based on what you wrote, but whatever.
I realize that unless you're using cds on a regular basis, you don't need to shuffle through them as often, but I still prefer just browsing for and recognizing the case I want right away. I can usually spot the case I want with having to thumb through. Like I said, though, it is just my opinion.

As for protection, all experts I've heard from have always agreed that sleeves never protect as well as jewel cases, even when they're just sitting around.
