Fucking great game. Just like BF1942, only better. Can't wait to get my hands on the helicopters and airplanes.

Just tried it, and it runs better than I had expected. I'm having one major issue though, and that is that I can't map the numpad arrow keys. I keep getting a popup saying that the key is already mapped, but it isn't listed in the GUI. I also checked the settings file, and unless I missed one, they are not mapped there either. Suckage :(

Yeah, you can't see shit around them, and every other clown has turned them off already so they have an unfair advantage.

I was laying down in the shadows next to a building over by the flag near the air strip (not the air strip base, but the one closest to it) and an APC clown comes flying by about 50 feet away and stops, turns, shoots me. That would be impossible without shadows being off unless they had some kind of a hack and it's FAR too early for that.

When will game settings be locked!? Another thing people are doing is disabling the DX shader effects such as blur (like when you're hit) so they can see clearly through the injury. Stupid shit.

Anyway, I was pretty much flawless throughout my first night of play. Six deaths total, two were team kills, one was legit, and three were me being a dumbass in the blackhawk. PHROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO... splash BOOM and down it went. LOL.

If you use the drivers with the demo, you can see in the shadows properly.. :icon26:

And i have ALL the eye candy all the way up.. no problems seeing people and what not in shadows

FYI: managed to fix the control issue, had to manually edit the settings file (in the "my documents" folder, grrrr  ). So far I'm unimpressed with the game. The graphics (even with everything maxed) don't look very good, and the accounts system is a nightmare.

Have looked at the ones from the official battlefield site (EA). If you look at the 'combat action' set of pictures, none of them even show any combat.

I maintain it still looks poor. Picked up C&C Generals today to ease my dissapointment tho.

hey foo, fuck off and just try playing the game instead of basing an opinion on the screenshots

btw, the in-game server browser is pure shit (as they always are), does anyone know if ASE supports the BF2 Demo yet?

Oh god those shadows look disgusting... Its a driver issue, right? Odd...

But is not that bad a looking game. People should remember the kind of scale we are talking about here. Its ok to moan, but moan when there is cause to. A game this large will soon bog down your PC when its all super high detail at that scale... And I bet most of you have troublw running it as it is anyway ;)

If you want good looks AND massive scale, wait for ET:QW, thats gonna rawk. But of course, thats also not out for at least a year. We gotta give the average minimum spec time to catch up :(

Damn poorpers... :(

Eh? I think it was the post Pauly edited that explained I can't play it, it won't support my card (geforce 4 128Mb). Which only makes me thing worse of it. Far Cry is fine, HL2 is fine, D3 was fine. This doesn't look a patch on those and won't run on the same spec graphics card?

I can't base my opinion on much more, since the game's support is so shit it won't run on my perfectly able rig.

It was ok. Ran fine at 1024 with all on full on my rig (P4 2.6GHz PC800, 1024MB PC3200 RAM in dual-channel mode, Raptor, Radeon 9800 Pro). But I messed around with the setup for 20 minutes cause I happened to delete it after I set it up the first time.. Got annoyed by that, so might try it more later ;)

Looked good, but felt very weird..

THAT SAID, there is no reason for it to be THIS low detail:

HL2 with medium settings :( They could at least make the font higher res :p

Thats not a GF4 MX is it? If so, good luck running anything out there "FINE". Honestly, devs don't support it because it doesn't support the latest features, its just a GF2 with a few more things. Wow.

I know, because i had one at one stage, and i had trouble running anything on it.
