The last half of it more than made up for it. Right Where it Belongs is a fantastic song, the album is worth it for that song alone.

Oh yeah...that is a nice song. The single isn't bad but his signing kinda turns me off in the chorus.

recent music I've been enjoying (not necessarily new)

Blutengel - Demon Kiss (Gothy electronica fun)
Juno Reactor - Labyrinth (More electronica, not gothy in the slightest)
Within Temptation - (Cheesy metal with a really talented female vocalist (if you dislike Nightwish you'll despise this))
Strapping Young Lad - Heavy as a Really Heavy thing (\m/)
Children of Bodom - Hate Crew Deathroll ("Black/Heavy" Metal, wish I was this much into them when i saw them live)

oh and the new fischerspooner is purdy good too. i recomend the Thin White Duke mix of Just Let Go.

the new Garbage is an amazing album. It's like what should have been between their first album and Version 2.0. It's nothing like Beautiful Garbage, which is a good thing.

Also the Killers are working on some new material that sounds amazing. I saw them in concert a month or so ago and they played some new songs which were truely super duper. I dunno if they can be found on singles or on the internet or what but they are definantly worth having a look for.

Beck's new album seems promising from what I've heard. Havn't heard the whole thing yet but chances are I'll pick it up sometime soon here.

The Decemberists are also worth checking out. if you havn't heard of them they would technically be considered Indie, but more on a story telling folk music kind of way. It's really fucking good. If I'm not mistaken they're a Portland based band and are just now hitting the big scene. Some songs of theirs that i recomend are...
Sixteen Military Wives
Mariner's Revenge Song
Chimbley Sweep
Engine Driver
The Train Part IV

I don't like the single they released (Hand that Feeds) that much, it seems far too engineered to be played on the radio than as an album track.
