It's still early beta though it's entirely likely certain things, like a cool crosshair are going to be implemented later. It's just fine details and id is usualy pretty good with that.
I think id isn't directly working on this but it's their name on the line I'm sure carmak or whoever has to approve it. Looks like D3 to me.

so its green...so what? ignoring the fact that you can change the color, maybe it just allows for itself to be more visible.
unless you also think that when pro players play q3 with bright green colored players, they're playing super furry animal launcher?

Come on, doom 3 had a crosshair that matched the hud
Althought some of you ARE right. 5-6 months left of production so it will probably get changed.
With all the "friendly" marines this time around, something like doom 3 would be needed. You dont get to control squad members, but some kind of crosshair info to tell what marine is what (Because each marine has a name now) is kinda needed.

Green crosshairs are the best anyway (though I hope you can change it to just a dot as massive crosshairs fuck up my aim more than anything).

To be like quake2... needs more green. (I'm not talking about crosshairs though)
