More than you ever wanted to know about tea

Post by bitWISE »

I stumbled across this link earlier and its got some pretty cool information.

http://lpi.oregonstate.edu/infocenter/p ... icals/tea/

Cliff notes: Real tea is good for you and it may: prevent heart disease, prevent cancer, induce weight loss, lower risk of kidney stones, and increase bone density

Tea is good stuff, and yeah, it's pretty good for you. A lot of it could have to do with antioxidants, but the media is starting to use that as a buzz word to sell just about everything. But there are a lot of good studies out there that support tea's positive effects.

There's a nice little place close to where I work that has hundreds of different types of tea. It's like a wine shop for tea snobs. It's a nice change from the barrage of Starbucks and Folgers coffee here in the states. The problem is that a lot of americans think you're abnormal if you don't drink coffee or uncool if you don't like cappuccino. Good tea is sometimes hard to come by...

All i drink is tea. I dont drink coffee hardly ever. I find green tea is just the right boost without a hard crash. Hard crash means you have to drink it all day to stay "up" or keep smooth with red bull.

Honestly i dont drink anything right now. I just have my bagle and OJ and im fine.

That's odd, because many teas are used to relieve got rot. Try something lighter, like a green, red, or white tea. :icon14:

Damn, there are all kinds that I really like, but these are some of my favorites:

Moon over Madagascar
Three Brothers
Malaysian Highlands
Chocolate Cream
Orange pekoe ceylon
Jasmine
Rooibos

And I agree with bitwise: Thai iced tea owns.

I mostly drink Earl Gray Deluxe (with extra bergamott), Earl Gray Jasmine or Keemun in the morning. In the evening I tend to stick to green tea, often Gunpowder or perhaps Chai.

No teabags, only quality stuff.

There's a Turkish smokehouse me and my buddies go to every once and a while. Hookah + Turkish coffee = easy like Sunday morning.
