I heard good things about Longest Journey and Syberia -- there's at least one company that still makes games like that : http://www.adventurecompanygames.com/tac/

[size=75][i]I once had a glass of milk.

It curdled, and then I couldn't drink it. So I mixed it with some water, and it was alright again.

I am now sick.

I remember the glorydays of Kings Quest and Full throttle. Good days :(
Point and click was late in the King's Quest series...I remember the glory days of Kings Quest 1.

"Look door"

"Open door"

"Look chair"

"Get rock"

etc...

I taught myself to type playing Sierra adventures.
Meh. The first time I died because I'd just picked up a sharp object, I gave up on Sierra games altogether.

Have them both. And have Syberia 2 (a disappointment compared to the first.) Some of the adventure company games are great...many are utter shite.

Were you a fan of the Myst games? I played the first one a bit, and have good memories of it, but I tried to play Myst IV a while ago, and I hit a wall, and quick.

Adventure games are one thing, but exersizes in masochism are quite another...

One of the things I enjoyed a few years ago when my GF2 died in my PC was diving into the independent text adventures -- there are yearly IF competitions, and some of the entries were amazing. Memories of them still come up in dreams :dork: :tear: :dork:

Picked up Still Life. I've turned my wife into an adventure game addict, so she's pretty excited to get going with it.

But it's so nice outside right now, I think we'll take the laptop out to the deck and play the game out there while having a beer and watching the sunsent. How romantic...heh.

I got hold of Broken Sword III, I've played it for about two hours and really got into it. I hope it's a long game...it's a nice change to play a game with nice rich colours in, rather than running round destroyed cities, factories or futuristic industrial stuff

is the story versatile or does it have a set path you work through? there were some bits it didn't manage to explore with the french lady such as the safe in the floorboards, i assume you go back later?
