Question about the MX-518

Post by Guest »

Anyone use the resolution switch feature? Is it useful, or would you rather keep it at max dpi all the time? I dunno if its worth it to get an MX-518 or should I opt for the cheaper MX-510.

mx700 FTW!
[size=75][i]I once had a glass of milk.

It curdled, and then I couldn't drink it. So I mixed it with some water, and it was alright again.

I am now sick.

you would possibly use it if quake 3 did not allready enable sensitivity changes along with weaponswitch by itself.

I have a 518 and I don't use the res switch - I just keep it at max. I don't play hardcore MP games where you need different sensitivity for different weapons though.

It's a great mouse though, I really like it.

I gots me a mx700. Sexy little thing, feels nice, runs nice. Sure its lacking the battery gauge on the side like the new ones, but hey, WHO CARES. Just a shame I can't use the logoitech drivers on XP or my sensitivity gets fucked up. I wouldn't mind the battery gauge on my taskbar, but i cant install the drivers. Running on standard XP ones works perfectly fine, with all the buttons... Meh...

mx1000 kids, it's the best mouse ever.

True laser technology, The only laser mouse on the market atm.

http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/produ ... =hp_mx1000
MX1000 delivers a new pinnacle of performance no optical mouse can match. With an incredible 20x more sensitivity to surface detail—or tracking power—than optical, laser can track reliably even on tricky polished or wood-grain surfaces

my MX518 is outstanding. And yes, I use the resolution settings all the time.

It's useless in quake because the pace is too quick, however in RTCW, Battlefield Vietnam, etc. it fucking owns for sniping.

There ARE times when having a slower tracking are nice and times when faster tracking is nice.

Another excellent feature is it's super high sensitivity on 1600dpi. It will track vibrations through your desk.

The MX-1000 is $100 though, not $60 like the MX-518.

i'm still in love with my wingman.

Damnit, why can't they release a mouse with a solid middle button.

ergonomically this things incredible - with a three finger grip your hand is in a natural position and you can have much finer control

Julz I had that mouse... excellent little device, but compared to today's intelli mice, cleaning the roller parts is just a pain. :/

Love my MX510, I've been playing better since I got it. It's a very precise tool for aiming.

just baffles me why no company has made an optical mouse that has that sort of ergnomic superiority...
