Okay, so I just got a nice new 20" G5 iMac on the weekend, and I've already managed to hose it -- yay me!
Anyway, I'm trying to get into Single User mode to fix it by doing the Command-S thing, and once I get into the command prompt, my keyboard stops working.
(No, I am not using my bluetooth keyboard to do this -- I do have one, but I've been using several seperate USB keyboards, and they all exibit this behaviour. The last time I tried it with this keyboard there were some messages printed out after the command prompt that look like debug output from the USB controller driver -- I'll add them to this message via my laptop when I get home tonight)
Has this ever happened to anyone else? It's kind of embaressing... my first time owning a mac and i can't get it up....
So, WTF do I do now? (Problem with Single-User mode)
Don't worry, by default girls thinks guys with macs are seksi anyway.Therac-26 wrote:my first time owning a mac and i can't get it up....
First try boot in safe mode instead - hold down the shift key when booting until the spinning progress circle appear.
If that doesn't work try booting with the OS cd in the drive and hold down the C key - this forces the bugger to use the cd as system drive.
Hope this helps
cheers
